Emily is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, having graduated with her Master’s in Mental Health Counseling from Mercy College with high honors, and is a lifetime member of the Pi Gamma Mu Honor Society for the Social Sciences. Emily has worked extensively with adolescents with severe emotional and behavioral problems in a residential setting. While her training includes diagnosis and treatment of many psychiatric disorders, she also specializes in the use of group and individual DBT therapy with adolescents and families struggling with children with ADHD, Major Depressive Disorder, Generalized Anxiety Disorder and many more. She is certified in Animal Assisted Therapy, and loves using dogs with clients to aide in their relaxation and comfortability with the therapeutic process. Emily loves to learn and continues to train in many different therapeutic techniques and strategies. She believes that therapy should be individualized and truly believes that the therapeutic relationship itself will foster the greatest results. Emily’s true passion is giving individuals the tools they need to better manage all of the different roles they play in their own lives.
